What this puzzle is about
Film Night is a medium word search for movie lovers. Ten words are hidden in a 14 × 14 grid: the FILM, the MOVIE, and the SCREEN, the CAMERA, the ACTOR, the SCENE, and the LIGHT, plus a TICKET, a SEAT, and some POPCORN. Words run in straight lines in any of eight directions, including backward and diagonally.
Who it suits
With ten words in a 14 × 14 grid, it is a longer search than our easy boards, but every word is familiar. It suits older kids, adults, and anyone planning a movie night at home. It pairs well with The Film Night logic grid and can be played online or printed.
How to start
Start with POPCORN; its two P’s and two O’s make it stand out. TICKET is the only word with a K, and MOVIE is the only word with a V. Leave FILM and SEAT for last, when there are fewer places for them to hide.
About the words
POPCORN is the longest word, at seven letters. FILM and SEAT are the shortest, at four. Three words start with S: SCREEN, SCENE, and SEAT. SCREEN and SCENE both begin with SC, so check the third letter before you mark either one. SCREEN also has a double E.
