Your clues

  1. Mina brought the muffin.
  2. Arlo visited the round table.
  3. Mina visited the garden table.
  4. Rory brought the tart.

Make the matches

Tap a square to mark yes (✓), no (×), or clear it. A confirmed match rules out the rest of its row and column.

What this puzzle is about

The Tea House is a small deduction puzzle set in a tea room. Three guests, Rory, Mina, and Arlo, each ordered one treat (a muffin, a biscuit, or a tart) and sat at one table: the garden table, the round table, or the window table. Four clues tell you everything you need to match each guest with a treat and a table. There is exactly one solution.

Who it suits

It is one of the gentlest grids on the site: an easy 3 × 3 × 3 board where all four clues are direct statements, like The Train Journey and The Film Night. That makes it a good first puzzle for complete beginners and younger solvers, and a handy one for showing someone how the ✓ and × marks work. It pairs nicely with the Tea House word search.

How to start

Mark both of Mina’s clues first, then Arlo at the round table and Rory with the tart. Clear each row and column as you go. Each of the two people grids should now have one row with a single blank square left. Check those last matches against every clue before you mark them ✓.

How to solve this puzzle

Each person has one keepsake and visited one place. A yes mark eliminates the other options in the same row and column. Combine the clues until all three grids agree.
